  • 4 ft waves in my jon boat...

    If anyone saw me out on the tournament day yall were probably laughing... i was the only dumbass to try to go out past 2004 in a 15ft jon boat LOL!! once 3 waves literally came over the front of the boat and almost sunk my vessel i quickly turned around to the bayou! didnt do well but the tournament was fun!

        I have a 14 foot jon boat... Im sketched out when I get into 2 foot waves...4 foot waves? You are crazy!

            Good lesson you learned about how rough it gets in the bay. Love your courage but you need a self bailing boat to venture out in the bay in rough weather!

                  I saw you and we were thought you were freaking nuts. It was throwing my 22ft GC around so I can imagine how you felt.

                  We kept and eye on your for a minute, but you looked like you had it under control (well maybe).

                    I have a 16ft bass boat and I got to about where the 1st tube pond is and was getting waves over my bow. I stopped at that point and got on protected side and fished. It was a rough one

                      Were you measuring the wave from the back or the front? A 2' wave on a 14-16' boat looks huge. I've had to cross some nasty water in Trinity 2-3's & driving winds is no fun in any sort of aluminum boat.

                        the waves were easliy 2' some 3' and i got the ocassional 4' i mean i aint kidding when i say i almost sunk. litterally just enhaled the front of my boat! i was pissed because i couldnt get where i wanted to go but oh well theres always next time!!

                          I hate 3-4's in my 23' Robalo with a deep V. I have been in a 18' jonboat that swamped in 2 waves, so you were darn lucky ya dint sink.
