Were we wrong

Me and a buddy were leaving lutes at about 7am. And as we got down the bayou we rounded a cornor there are three guys on this Kenner. Smak in the middle of the bayou trolling motor Down facing the right side of the bayou at this point we committed to going behind him and he sees us round the corner wot and decides we wants to turn around in front and head to the side of the bank we were co mites to going to after we had already slowed down for the dude. This dude then proceeds to tell us to go around him. To the left was the bank and to the right was his boat this pissed off my buddy who asked him if he wanted him to go on the bank with his boat then gave him a califonia hello as e went on our way.....was it wrong of us to be like wtf and pissed at the guy?

This all happens before the channel splits for the bubble barrier.

I usually am off plane passing anyone fishing in close areas of 300 yards or less bank to bank

I try to putt around and go where they want me. If they are fishing they have the right away.

I did see 2 guys fully anchored in the middle of the channel yesterday just outside of the bridge. I saw at least 2 more drifting the middle of the channel and one guy trolling around in the channel. This was all at one time. Had I been in a different boat I would have been grounded trying to avoid them.

I felt like I was slalom skiing........

We are talking an area of less than 50 yards wide and we were 1 foot from tree branches and debris on the side of the bank..... And the dude literally watched us move to the side and stArt slowing down and then he moved from the opposite side of The bank just to try and intercept our course... And our bought was prolly about half way by him when he yelled this.This was not in the channel part of chocolate it was about a bend or 2 before

It's not something to get all worked up over. People go fishing to relax . If I'm out somewhere the faster you come by me the faster things get back to normal.

I'm didn't get worked up at all I was just puzzled as to why the guy on the other boat was being a db and yelling stuff as we were trying to get out of his way and on our way.

If he changed course I would have changed course into him & let him make the next move... bow up for optimal jumping angle then a good goose of the throttle for proper speed for takeoff & landing

....just goes to show you that some folks just aren't aware of just plain old "common sense" when on the water. Might be a good idea for a thread for the new folks so they can get some pointers on what not to do when hitting the water! That guy should have known that you don't stop in the middle of a high traffic area unless you are off to the side so that folks can get around you.

Yea that's what I'm saying. We tried to go around behind him as he was heading away from us but as soon at we got off the throttle about 25 yards up from him he went facing one way to Turing around and heading for The bank we were already running on. He was broadside when we turned the corner.

If I am on plane and outside of you, you would be best to want me to run on plane and not lay it down, ripple waves that diminish quickly are better than a tidal surge. I agree with Paul. rs

I saw the same boat about later still doing same thing. I slowed down and pointed left or right for me to go. He pointed right and I went by. Had to shut down quick didn't see him until I made the curve

This is constant on chocolate. I just blow by on plane as far away as I can. If I slowed down for everyone I'd never get to where I am going. What a bunch of kooks!! I mean if you are really on some fish wave the boat to stop and tell them your on good fish and let em fish with ya!!! Please blow me on plane and quit tail dragging your deep drafting boat making a tsunami.
