I know I'm going to catch crap over this, but here it goes. I was boarn and raised on Chocolate Bayou, and still live there. I have fished the bayou and bay my entire life. I have also skied and wakeboarded the bayou my entire life. My friends and I try to show everyone some courtesy whether we are fishing or wakeboarding. But, fact of the matter is that the bayou is public waterway and everyone has the rite to use it, even if you personaly don't like what they are doing. I have been there long einough to know you don't fish the bayou on a weekend or holiday, during the summer. It's not worth the head ache. For those that want to fish it on the weekends you can go far einough up or down the bayou that you won't have to worry. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for courtesy and common sence.

all I will say is if you can accept the consquences of your actions on the water then do what you have to do. I am not talking about skiers or wade boarders because thats just part of the public waterway as fishbait mentioned. Im talking about the IDIOTS that almost seem to be doing it on purpose and you know who you are.

If Chocolate does indeed have a no wake zone, then no, they do not have the right to go cruising through as fast as they want. It's against the law. Also, not trying to be nit picky about spelling but I think it's pretty much common sense to spell "sense" with an s and not a c if you want people to take your posts seriously. Not trying to be mean so don't take it the wrong way, just trying to help!

Me and Buoy ran into a few people who did that but also some who did slow down - so it was a mixed bag. I can see on one hand why someone would get worked up about it because it's really annoying and dangerous if they produce enough wake. Maybe I just have a realistic outlook on life but honestly this kind of stuff to me is just expected so it doesn't surprise or bother me much anymore.

God must really love stupid people he made so damn many of them!!!

I have to admit the 2 curves are dangerous, and I know of one fatal accedient and I have seen numerous near misses. I believe it is only a matter of time before we see another fatality, or a no-wake zone .... but that is just my opinion.

I also hate filling up with gas, and having my boat slam against the dock, because of retards throwing wakes .... fisherman and ski boats .... I just don't understand why either go by a marina throwing a wake while boats are docked .... I just hope they have proper liability insurance .... because I will encourage anyone that gets hurt or boat damaged to pursue damages.

If a kid were to get hurt there would be hell to pay ....again just my opinion

we were fishing a point on the 1st and had 3 jet skis come by several times about 30 yards from and wide open. Really messed up the fishing.

Jetskis really are a good catch-my drag sings and usually I get spooled by them-yet to land one. One day I may!! Zinnnggg goes my hook.

Have you??? I love fishing, but I also love wakeboarding. We have the up most respect for fishermen, when we are wakeboarding, but do you respect what your surroudings are??? We are people just like you, but for some we love two different things.

I respect my surroundings-I run aground on reefs and help spread/seed oyster beds!!

I don't care about wakeboarders or anyone else so long as they don't farge with me. I don't go hauling next to some skier/boarder/jetskier in the water and don't expect one to wake the crapola outta me. I try to keep a rod available for just such a situation-Zzzziiinnnggg "Clunk" then "Ouch".
