Fished West Bay with Kenny this am. Got a late start due to the storms and jumped in around 6:30 with a mild N wind. First blow up peeled a bunch of line and came unbuttoned. Missed a couple more and then finally hooked up. First fish of the day was 28 1/4" and a little over 7 lbs.
Wind started humping with the storms blowin around us and the fish didn't want to bite again uuntil it calmed back down (about an hour later) Kenny found a few on plastics and then the bait started flipping again so he switched back to tops and I was throwin a corky. I hooked up with another good one and got her to hand and she released herslf. That one was 25+. After that we got into a school of solid trout from 17" to 22" on top and finally quit so Kenny could get back in.
I drove the seawall and found the water on the East end lookin really good, so I jumped back in to give it another go. There were rafts of mulley all around me and pelicans diving all over the place, but I couldn't get the fish to feed. I only had 5 or 6 blow ups and hooked up twice but they both came unbuttoned quick.
Sorry no pics since I lost my waterproof camera and we released everything.
