Went ahead and fought the wind today, definately paid off. Didn't catch lots of fish, but got one to tie my pb. We found some good water holding lots of bait that turned on as the tide started coming in. Was throwing a super spook, and had one good blow up early, was about to give up on tops but remembered reading about how chip throws every size of tops until he figures out what they are liking. I tied on a ss jr, second it was on. Landed this 25 inch trout that weighed 5.25 lbs on the boga. I didn't want to keep the fish all that much I just wanted pics, but I had to string it so I could enter it into an online tourney that the Aggie Gulf Coast Fishermen are having. By the time I got back to the boat to measure it and take the pic, she wasn't doing too well, but I promise it'll be the only 25+ trout I keep all summer. Would have stayed there, but 20 mins later the guy who's boat I was in wanted to leave and look at the pass so I reluctantly left with and went for a boat ride. It was a waste of time, we found lots of bait, slicks and birds that way but the fish wouldn't bite. We threw everyting at them. Finally ended up at a little redfish spot I was just introduced to. Sightcasted one that was right at 20 inches but was not sure if it was 100% legal so I let him go. Caught 2 more one keeper and another just too small. The other guys both caught one keeper each. If I would have been able to get up on a tower of a boat, I prolly would have been able to sight cast a ton more, but since I was wading it made it hard to see further away. I figured it was a good day considering the wind.
