  • Saturday's Report

My fishing partner & I were in the water at dawn and it looked like a promising topwater bite was shaping up.

Onshore wind not too strong, incoming tide, a few mullet here and there. Water was sandy but good enough. I threw a bone Spook one knocker with no lookers or takers. I had fished this area already this week and caught a few trout & reds on Corky Devils and plastic.

Then after about an hour the boat came out of Sea Isle and two guys anchored and the short guy apparently really wanted to fish "his spot" and waded almost in front of my buddy...they caught a few small trout and we caught a few small trout and I had one good red.

...and that was the end of spring break for me.

That's what happens at Spring Break. I went out yesterday and every spot I tried on the south shore already had 10 boats in it.

Went into Karanchua and had the whole lake to myself. Tons of bait and managed a couple of keeper reds and a flattie. That was perfect because I was out of redfish and down to my last flounder.

A little bumpy coming home I'd guess.

As long as I can go straight into them it isn't bad. Getting from Snake Island to Karanchua cut was a lot worse. More like surfing than driving a boat.

Thanks for the report. Hopefully the reduced traffic on the water this week will help the bite!

Kenny, spring break is over, so you should not get the dum arses our there as often. Thanks for the report, at least you went out.

the fishing traffic was bad. even during the week there was always people in the spot i wanted to fish even before dark. usually in the afternoons is when the dedicated would shine and fish into the dark instead of out of the water before dark
