  • Double Slam 1/22 report

    Conditions
    Wind SE 10-12
    water temp 62.7
    water - clear
    tide - no idea
    Area - south shoreline cove

Yes, I texted Coe on the walk back to the boat to let him know Donna and I both got a Texas Slam today and as you can see from his "fish tales" post nobody believes us, so here are the pics and the story.

We left the house around 1:00 pm for a quick wade, jumped in and did not see any bait but we did not have time to go somewhere else. Donna was throwing the usual new penny shrimp gulp and I was throwing a combination Catch 2000 Texas Chicken (Thanks Mr. Soule) and Day glow Corkie (Thanks Jamin - Flapper).

Water was really clear and then I saw a few mud streaks to the left of us, so we made our way there and then the bait showed up. Donna and I hooked up at the same time with reds. Then I caught another red and then a trout and so on. Donna brought her keeper red in, then a nice trout and finally the 18" flounder to round out her slam.

We quit counting after while, but we are estimating 20-25 keeper trout (kept 5), 5 reds for sure (kept 3) and 8 flounder for sure (kept 4).

Enjoys the pictures and see you at the meeting.
