Flyfishing Report 10/31-11/1,2 by Skiffstiff

[SKIFFSTIFF]

Saturday afternoon was really good with11 sightings(3 trout,8 reds) caught 5 reds.

Sunday morning had more fish on the flats but none would eat the fly.Cast to 5 trout and 13 reds.Went out early so that I could be back to watch the Texans. Skunked on fish,but the game was good.

Monday I waited for the water to warm up and it paid off big time !
got 21 shots(4 trout ,17 reds) ended up catching 2 trout(23in,27in.) and 9 reds(18 to 27ins.)
The best that I have done this year ! You gotta love west bay in the fall/winter when the water clears up enought to sight cast with the fly.

It was! Catching trout that size on any tackle is GREAT,but on the Fly it is OFF THE CHARTS .

Awesome...need to learn how...I used to pole my buddy around in Port O and watch him...getting to throw at that many is reds is pretty dang good!

Thanks for the report. This time of year is my favorite on the flats. I plan on hitting one of my honey holes in the back flats at sunrise Friday morning. I only carry a fly rod to the flats.
