Finally got a chance yesterday to fish under some normal tidal conditions yesterday. The last week or so they have been running about 2' above normal. With higher tides I really seem to struggle catching fish, they just scatter out with all the extra water. Yesterday the tides were almost back to normal, the problem was though we had a 15 to 18 knot easterly wind that made for some lovely boat riding
.
Anyways, my party ended up scratching out a nice box of fish under some tuff conditions. We caught fish on mid bay shell pads, north shoreline, and in the coves. Soft plastic baits and bone Super Spook Jrs were the baits we used.
There are some fish starting to show up in the coves again. Had a little topwater action in one yesterday about mid morning. Look for the coves to heat up after our first big front arrives and the tides drop. Can't wait!
