9/5 West Bay Report

Wind out of the east
Water was clear and temp was 85 degrees
Location - North shoreline close to Chocolate

Chip and Scott showed Donna and I a reef along the north shoreline last Wednesday, so we made the decision to try it again yesterday. Things started off slow, but Donna caught the first trout of the day, which was around 18".

I finally landed the red in the picture and boy it was a fight. Ripping my line several times until Donna netted him. 26", 7lb.

Caught a few more trout at that same spot, releasing most of them expect the 19" Donna caught.

Left and went to the reef that runs along the ICW in Chocolate. Wind really picked up and my Stake out Stick came loose while I was taking a trout off and we were heading to the reef, I started the engine and missed it but then I ran over the SOS, so it looks like I need to purchase another one

Anyway, we had a great week on the island and now it is back to Magnolia!

Scott, we did have a good time and thanks for stopping at that spot on Wednesday. By the way, I have to go and get the knee checked out, it is not feeling to good

Thanks Chip, I might just wait until winter time. I good brace and pain killers should allow me to jump back in the water next time.

Capt the power pole is a nice addition, however, on shell or hard bottom, I'll try to manually push it in a little farther
