Heres a few more pics of my fishing marathon that I am currently on. The first two pics are from day five. Caught 5 trout on a suspended Mirrolure. The one with a yellow belly, silver side and bone top. They were hitting it on run setting almost all three hooks in them every time. Nothing big but lots of fun. Found them in 4-5 fie feet of water with mud bottom.
While catching the third trout I heard a huge blow up behind the boat. This got my ears perked up. I saw where it was and knew it was just out of casting range. I thought about moVing the boat around and drifting through. I then decided to let her rip. I ended up about ten yards short then on the second twitch it got hammered. Really put up a nice fight. Ended up being a 27" red.
Day six came around and I had to take a break and go to Houston to meet some friends for lunch. Needed a little break and was good times seeing good friends.
Day seven rolled around and I was off again with Seaky headed to West Bay. We started off drifting along some reefs and picked up a few dinks after several drifts. We continued to make several drifts and picked up a few for the skillet. We had around 25-30 fish. Most were just to close to keep. We managed 8 keeper trout that were just the right size for for the pan searing. Miss Corndogs has been on me to get her some trout so it worked out perfect I got to fish dawn to dusk on Christmas Eve and she was happy to see some table fare.
Day eight is not looking to good. Weather looks tough for tomorrow. I plan on opening a few gifts with the family. If all goes well I may be able to get out in CB in the afternoon. If not I will try again when weather permits.
Merry Christmas to all. Enjoy!!
