Outstanding pictures and information Rick!! Catching big trout is not for those in a hurry, or faint of heart. After all of those agonizing minutes of patient retrieve, the ensuing battle is heart stopping

Thanks Capt. Steve, I will fish all week for one bite this time of year and not even get discouraged if I don't get a bite at all. One big bite a month would do me just fine!! It's not for everyone, I've caught a bazillion limits of good trout over 35 years... now I just want trout in the 9-10 lb range so I can photograph and release and surely don't mind the grind to get them especially this time of year.

Awesome fish. That one is a true Pig. Good information also, love getting big trout to eat topwaters this time of year, but at times it takes extreme patience.

I know exactly what you mean. Catching small trout just doesn't hold a candle to the big ones. My only problem this year is having a boat that is quiet in the shallows again and not being able to get over the obsession I have with sight casting. I have been spending a lot of time trying to sight cast big trout, with limited success this year. It's amazing how sensitive and selective those big girls are. I have been watching them a lot, just not catching them that way.

We need to get together down there sometime, it's intruiging to see what those fish do up on the flats. I will be spending some serious time looking for them in both bays next week.

Interesting and informative information concerning your technique...thank you for sharing . Congratulations !! You put in a lot of patient time grinding it out on the water to achieve your results...it's not easy and you deserve the praise for when you do land a trophy .
