  • Sargent and E. Matty

I am organizing a retreat in Sargent in November and was wondering if anybody would share some knowledge with me.

First, I haven't fished E. Matty before and need pointers for that time of the year.

Second, some of us would like to do some duck hunting also if anybody has any recommendations about that.

    Thanks!
    Scott

The town shuts down early except for bars . If you plan to go get something to eat , call around first for business hours . No gas on the water . Gotta fuel up at gas stations . Mike's boat launch on a canal is a good place to launch....he lives there and has bait. Someone to be looking for out for your trucks . The ICW public launch is unsupervised .

Mike's boat launch - was $3 to launch last year . Going south on FM 457 into Sargent, take a right on CARANCHAHUA ST....you can see a bridge it crosses a bayou from FM 457 at the turn . Go down CARANCHAHUA ST , you'll eventually see BLUE WATER BLVD. on your right merging at a 45 degree angle to CARANCHAHUA ST. , go another 1/4 mile and the launch wiil be a blue house on your right . There is a restaurant at the end of FM 457 at the ICW .

Drift the North shoreline from Drulls Lump and West from there in November. Especially if there is a North wind. South wind, head to the Oyster farm drain area or anywhere else on the South shoreline cuts and wade.

I'm going to be down there Monday to take my pop to the dentist that morning. You free? Going to fish East that afternoon.

Had planned to take Tuesday off, and head down there. Then I got an email that I am scheduled for a training class that day. Joy!

I am game to go, if I can swing a day off!
