  • Live bait supplier

This question pertains to retail bait shacks, versus getting live bait via fishing or using a cast net.

Where do ya'll get your live/dead bait (finger mullet and piggies) while on your way to the West End. Only for convenience of location do I stop at Uncle Bucks near 61st. I haven't deteremined how equitable his pricing is.

I have been known to stop into Fiesta (in Houston) and negotiate for unsaleable shrimp or squid.

Stupid me, I should've thought to follow JT's avatar to their doorstep.

Sea Isle bait camp (west end marina). I like Uncle Buck's-they give a good qt and generally have shrimp, so I hit them on way to Jam Beach on Friday, then hit Sea Isle bait afterwards. There's also Rusty Hook past Terramar and Bright Light across the pass and lastly West Bay Bait & Tackle (Jerry and Becky). The camp off sportsman is gone.

By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. Naw, but on the serious note, I have been to Uncle Bucks only during the flounder run and get mud minnows. Barham has a good relationship with them he trades in buckets there. I Have used the bait shops in Surfside growing up threw the years for bait to fish the jetty. But when we fish Chocolate we use a cast net,

            Thanks for the response!

Many years back, when the kids were tykes (and not tyrants) I'd get bait at Waterman's and fish with them in lake Como. Course Watermen's is a ghost camp now.

this time of year use a cast net. plenty of mullet everywhere and some shrimp if you know where to find them.
the fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad.
