Texas city dike
The dike is scheduled to open at 6 AM Saturday ! Yes , I assume that the boat launch will be operable . Last I heard there might be a fee for mantainance to access the dike which is fine by me .

There will be a 5 dollar fee on the weekends and Holidays during the peak summer months. There is no fee for Texas City residents which I think is a bunch of crap. If they go out there and crap it up, then the clean up comes from people that don't live in T/C. I don't have a problem with the fee but if one person pays everyone should have to pay. JMO!

Just a quick thought, BD. Do you think that any Texas City tax dollars went into the rebuilding of the dyke? If they did, then residents of Texas City have already paid their "fair share" to get it open again and will continue to pay part of the maintenance costs through city taxes.
If no city money went into the repair or maintenance, then everyone should pay but you got to have all of the facts before you break out the flamethrower.

Tax payers are going to pay taxes no matter what. I do. What the city does with it who knows. I don't recall any bond being voted in to pay for it. All I remember is Chuck Doyle saying He was waitnig on the gumment. All I am saying is if one pays We should all have to pay. And I do believe that FEMA and the goof wads in Washington paid for the dike repair, if not all of it at least most all of it. Like I said JMO= Just My Opinion!

Just to let you know, The govment did not pay all of the cost of the repairs and will pay none of the cost of the up keep. It lies on the tax payers of TC to do so even if they don't use it.So if you don't think it is fair I guess you can still pay the $8.00 at Eagle point, or the $10.00 at the yachet bassin. just glad the dike is open and I dont mind the fee, this will clear the traffic at the other ramps. Traffic that we have all being dealing with since Ike.

Is there a way to buy a yearly pass or will they offer one? Kinda like a season pass to Astroworld, where they count on You not coming back often enough. By the way, No vendors, bait shops, pier, or even lights, Just a road and the boat ramps.
