We need a life guard here, or at least a general beach closing by the local LEO's to prevent this sort of thing. Just a thought. Geez. Where is common sense? Sending my thoughts and prayers to the family(s) involved.

Just one person drowned. We don't need a lifeguard or to close the beach either. You nailed it, people just need to use some common sense. I bet alcohol was involved in this sad event.

Yep, saw all the lights etc as well. 4th of July we had one at Terramar and now another at JB. I will say it one more time, DON't go into that water when the waves are that rough. Prayer sent.

Too rough to go in and the news kept reporting strong rips and apparently was ignored. Sad for her family-no one needs to go out there after dark in rough seas-just senseless and ignorant.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. We were at San Luis Pass last Sunday and there were a ton of people in the water. Some lifeguards/beach patrol came up and warned people that this was one of the most dangerous sites and that they really should get out of the water or at least not be in over waist deep. I was getting ready to wade in a ways to do a bit of wade fishing but I went over to talk to them first (I'm not much of a swimmer and I definitely don't want to become a statistic). They told me to just be careful and not to go in over waist deep. I fished for a bit there but there were way too many people swimming so I went further around where there were less people and waded some there. The water was much calmer as I went further around too. My prayers go out ot this family.
