Never would have believed it until Ms A.'s Thomas turned a friend into the surfmaster, what I call him now, aka Roland Martin Jr., lol, DOA shrimp with the gold flakes, under a cork, Mid Coast or Cajun Thunder type corks, sometimes catch them first cast, every cast, have to fish them like Ms. A. says.

I waded at the Seawall/90th St. Pier on Thursday at sunrise. First time in the surf for me. Caught 4 sandies and 1 croaker (all C&R) and left by 9:00 am. All caught on brown DOA shrimp on the bottom. I tried several topwaters and soft plastics prior to the DOA with no luck.

I've never had any luck with DOA...I know someone with a big stock ("buoy37")....I gave up on them long long long ago.Originally posted by sfef84 View PostDOAs are portrayed as the end all-be all, pinnacle of fishing lure technology in magazines but I have yet to catch a fish on one of them.
I have tried the plum chart and white/pink. Anyone use them as their "go-to?"

Used them some with no luck....but the more natural colors sure do look like a real shrimp and stay level and glide along nicely after popping it.
