I hope you enjoy the show... I'm going to give you the same advice that Rabalo gave you... Hire Capt. Greg (Aqua Pimp) for a day or two with the intention of learning the bay system post Ike... That is the cheapest way to learn the bay system... Just My Opinion...

I have a Tidewater 21' with a jack plate. It floats in 14" or so but not sure about to plane-a lot more than that.Comment

I suggest getting with Capt. Greg Francis-he is really a good guy and will assist you in a learning trip and you need to let him know where you want to learn as to areas, which will likely be west end of west bay and chocolate. For the money ya spend, it'll likely save that in water pumps/skag repair!! Ask if you can take your boat so your gps keeps your tracks. I vote for a learning trip too... although I tell you the way I go I can float in 10", get up in 12 and run across 6-8" depending on how hard the bottom is. Even with that boat of mine I feel pucker factor sometimes in Chocolate but I've been lucky reading the water and my maps. Sea Isle cut is a cut into the ICW across from Sea Isle. It is marked with poles to the east of a small reef. Here it is on a google map with the darker water being the cut.
