  • Reef Etiquette?

We pulled up to a reef this mourning their was a guy anchored on the reef and fishing the west side of the reef wading north parallel to the reef. So we stay about 200 ft off the reef and anchored behind his boat and started fishing the east side of the reef wading north. So he is on the other side off the reef and we were both wading the same direction north. But I guess he thought we were to close and got in his boat and ran right in front of us on the way out. We've fished this reef many times and other boats pull up and start fishing no problem.
So my question is do any of you see a problem or was he just grumpy?

I would probably not have stopped knowing how big the reef is, and it seems y'all might of been heading for the same spot eventually, or perceived by said "grumpy" fisherman...the North end sweet spot.
Just my take....but no one listens to me anyway!

I gotta hear this story. And it was shell island but we have fished it before when 2 other boats have pulled and we all managed to fish happily.

I think he Grandfathered the reef way back so i would back off or just fish with a boat running around.
