  • Seaweed

I was planning to fish the surf Saturday, but I read in the GDN that the seaweed is bad. You guys on the Island know if it's fishable or not ? Thanks!!

Surf's pretty nasty this mourning. Their are a few patches of weed coming in but you can fish around them on top. I don't know how it is under the surface.

It's thick down here in JB. There's a lot on the beach, in the shorebreak and more coming in. The weedlines Sunday should be close in a great fishing.
If you're fishing from the beach it will be tough to impossible. IMO

arties would be tough if its very thick but if you use shrimp or finger mullet you can put a split shot or 2 on the line and get them just under it.a lot of fish hang around that stuff

Hmm, that's rather strange because down south here on SPI, our weed season is about over, very light now. May was bad here, about 1-2 feet thick on the beach.

Did OK with a weedless lure called 'Sweet Baby Cheeks' but would have liked something smaller to match the hatch. The weedless part is just stiff fluoro, I believe, but it works.

It is everywhere, not thanks. The surf is rough as well and I did not think it was supposed to lay down. I would not waste my time.

You have to roll your windows up on the seawall, its all over the beaches rightnow.
