30 hours per month on engine... normal?

You just make long runs from one location to another a lot looking for fish. 30 hrs. a month is a lot of ga$ money!

It depends.... If I'm doing 52mph then I gulp 21gph but if I run 35mph I only sip 8.5gph. Depends on how bad I want to get there.

Jerry and I know how you feel!! It does not take me 20 mins to get out of the subdivision, but having the boat in a slip, makes it way to easy to rack up the miles!

Hahaha Like I said it does depend on the day. Sometimes I hammer down, some days I don't. It's amazing how fast the pass comes at 50'ish And last time I looked you have a dayum fine boat yourself brotha!!

Whewww.... Ok I was thinking the same. I'm about 200 hours on my 2 year old Mercury 225. I have to agree, when it's in the sling it's just so dang easy to let her down and go! Usually I run to the Pass or Chocolate and work my way back, or I run to N & S Deer island and work my way back. Either way I do 1/2 island runs when I leave most of the time.

but my suzuki is only 7 months old...lol
good news is busha has her ready to pick up so i'm not boatless this weekend!! drop off saturday, finished monday.. love it!
i guess the newness of living on the water has me going so much. maybe i'll make myself kayak once or twice a month to cut down a bit.

I dint even take mine in-just changed plugs and lower unit oil after 30 hours-may have been closer to 40-50 though. Runs fine (knock on wood). My brother took his Suzi in for 30 hours-cost him about $200 I think. Cost me about $60 in parts and materials. Of course, those Suzis are a little harder to remove the cowling to get to the plugs-aint like flipping a lever!! Plus I'm carbed, whereas, you are fuel injected. No, it aint my 86 'Rude, 2008 yam. zmax 150.

Michelle, I agree with beandaddy and Thomas. Don't worry about the hours, just get out there and fish. Its a boat and made to be used so get out there and enjoy it. Plus I have heard good things about those zukes and can rack up the hours with no problems.

Naaaaaa enjoy that great water time! It won't always be boat weather so take advantage of it while the water allows. It's been a pretty calm season so far in the last year.
