  • Blockade Runners Invite 6-6-10 through whenever.

I have to work Saturday, but I plan on getting out there on Sunday as early as I can. It's Summer vacation time and most of June will be spent out there. I'll be staying until probably Wednesday. I might go home or just crash and shower at Explorer21's casa for a night, then do the whole thing again for 3 days. 3 days is about the limit for ice anyway.

Aside from the fishing/crabbing/front porch sittin', here are some jobs we need to do this Summer if anyone has any expertise or just wants to lend some elbow grease. It sounds like a lot, but it will all be done a little at a time.

    1. scrub the Hardie board exterior in preparation for painting
    2. cut and install exterior trim
    3. sand and paint cabinets
    4. scrape foam insulation off of studs in prep for panelling
    5. Drill and install bolts through pilings and girders
    6. set pilings for generator shed and walkway
    7. build railing all the way around
    8. caulk exterior joints in prep for painting

Well, there's lots more, but that's what I can think of now. Most of it is zero skill required, but some of it needs VJER or 007 type ingenuity.

If you've got a hankerin' to come out, just let me know.

Yep, I reckon we'd have been done by now if we didn't have to remove the Ghost Camp. No need for a separate forum. It's just one post a week.

Wish I was down there. I still feel like crap for not helping you out after Ike...right after the storm, got the news that we were being transferred and it took a LONG time to fix up the house to sell. Hurricane repairs plus the little things you ignore when you're in a house for 12 years...

Things happen John. No need to feel bad. Gotta take care of #1 and the family first. If you'll be down, come on out. I'll pick you up at the ramp.

Can't make it this weekend, but I'll be in touch when I can come down, hopefully soon. Doesn't look like a work shortage.

Not that much different than a Karankawa indian hunting the shallows at night with a torch and a spear.
