  • No Wake Zone

Just a note to let everyone that fishes in the Aransas Pass area, the high bridge has been a no wake zone for over 4 months and it is well marked.
Please watch bridges on ICW as they are putting in safety blocks to protect them and we will probably see them all up and down the coast.
I saw several near crashes this weekend, as some didn't slow down under them with others coming both ways did.
    Good luck

Yikes, sounds like the Memorial Day Idiots Club got a little over enthusiastic out there! But slowing down under any bridge is always a good idea, like to tugboat speed.

"No wake zone" has a certain meaning if it is state/federal designated, too. It means not throwing a wake of course, but also if it's a designated channel means "just enough speed to proceed and maintain steerage" or something like that.

    Hope nobody got hurt!
