Best ever

My husband and I decided to head out on Sunday. We tried a couple of locations without any success. Our third location came out better when I caught a 23 inch trout. After wards we only caught 14-16 inch trout. We wanted to be more protected from the wind since it picked up so we headed to our third location. I cast out and slam, it took off with my lure. Tried to reel in but the line got light. I was about to be upset, I thought the fish had come off until it splashed the water. As I reeled it in we thought it was a red until we got a view of it. It was a big trout. Talk about nervous, I did not want to loose it; I didn't reel in anymore, kept the trout under the water as my husband got the net. When he pulled it out of the water I noticed it was bigger than any trout I have ever caught. My husband unhooked it for me as I was so excited. He told me the hook was barely hooked inside its mouth. I took hold of the trout and measured it.

I know this is silly being excited for a 25 1/2 since many has caught bigger but this is my best trout ever.

I know this is silly being excited for a 25 1/2 since many has caught bigger but this is my best trout ever.

It's not silly, it's great you caught your personal best trout .... .now you can aim for a bigger one

Congrats, my best personal best is only 23" and I fish 2-3 times per week!!!! You should be proud.

Those fish are the reason we all love it so much... I get giddy at any trout over 25, even though i have caught many over 29... I still get those shaky hands watching a big trout froth at the mouth.

Congrats.. That is a moment you will remember forever

Thanks for the report. Nothing wrong with being excited when catching a big fish and 25+ is a great catch in anybody's book. . Don't forget you can only keep one over 25"...

I released it and the 23. I have the best memories about it and it gave me a bragging rights within the family

Anybody who doesn't get excited about a 25" trout needs a different hobby. Congrats on two great fish in one day.

Man I have not caught a red or trout yet. Hopefully I will find out this weekend.I bet it is exciting.
