I wish I'd caught that little( he was taller than me) punk azz kid who was rifling through my truck at 0230.... he completely caught me off guard when I saw him and I wasn't ready to draw down, I chased him for as long as a gimped up 48 year old could(about 100ft) screaming all kinds of stuff. Then those little chits cleared a 6ft fence in one jump and the only thing I could think of was...man I remember when I used to do that, while gasping for air!


Oh yeah...show no mercy now before they just move on to bigger things! Tough love works!

Glad you caught then in the act...If they are high school kids, then scare the sh^% out of them (if thats possible nowdays) then put them to work for you for a few days to make up the the $$ you lost in gear to see what others have to go through to get what thay have, if you can. If they are out of high school, then throw the book at them. A little tough love never hurt anybody. Who knows maybe nobody took them fishing when they were younger?

Have to be careful and you have to work within the system ... Small Bites is right, that there are more rules and regulations for juvenile and adult misdemeanors and crimes, and if you take the law into your own hands, YOU could end up in jail.

Unfortunately, sending the kids to a correctional facility or jail only trains them how to become better, more abusive criminals! I do like the court-appointed community service time with some hard labor, but that ain't our call.

When I was a bad boy, and this was back in the prehistoric days of the dinosaurs, daddy would threaten to send me to Military School, which in those days basically beat the tar out of you until you begged for mercy. Can't do that no more though.

I was hit and run by a punk kid. Totalled my car and 6 months later they asked if I wanted to allow him to have his liscense back or continue the court process. I was lazy and let him off. Kid was killed in a car wreck 6 months later his fault. I guess darwins law was at work. I should have prosecuted him. I have no regrets he was a scumbag!!! Procecute em.
