Sometimes there are defective blanks, and I don't know any wading rod that is made to dead lift a "fat red" up a pier. One thing I do know however is that Billy will make it right. He did for me. The only rod I fish with is my stix. It is night and day between my FTU rod and my castaways. A rod defect can also happen from mis-handleing a rod. A big bump against a truck bed, or boat can weaken a sensitive rod. That is possibly what happened with mine and then it broke on a trout, and Billy made good on the deal. I can guarantee you this though....Any time I need a new rod to replace an older one it will be a stix 100% for sure!!!

Way to go Billy for standing behind your product! I love my spiralstix. Casts great, but I do get a lot of double takes.

Sucks that you broke it Mike.......mount a long net on your dock so you dont have to worry about it.

So Billy? Do you warrant your rods against hurricanes? I'm not sure if it was a defective blank or the golf cart smashing into my rod rack.

If Billy warrented against Ike, I'd be first in line. That was one beautiful rod we won at an auction. We went on a serious search for it when we were allowed back to work on recovery. I wish I had a picture of it. Terrible loss. Really terrible loss.
