A couple nights back we had someone attempt to break into a vehicle on Tarpon St.. LEO thinks the perps came in by boat...The SUV alarm sounded and an up early neighbor said they heard an outboard right after the alarm started...

Just a little heads up for those that motor in to fish the lights in the canal at night....Don't be surprised if an officer stops by and says "Good Evening" Theres No Law prohibiting anyone from fishing these waters at night but be cautious for sure.

Funny enough.....Jeremy and I were fishing some lights the other night and we heard a security guard talking to someone on the phone(Police?). He said "there are some intruders in a boat with green and red lights on the front of their boat in the canal"......That sure narrowed it down.....Intruder Alert! We just laughed and kept on fishing.

We have thieves every year come in by boat. They usually go for props but anything downstairs including fishing tackle in boats will be stolen.
BTW with that in mind and summer almost here, there will be all kinds of folks around day & night including renters, so it's time to put stuff up at night and lock everything up day & night. I caught some kids (local talent) going through my truck console a few summers ago.

Yes Kenny , all true. We're in Sea Isle on the road to the pier........several years ago we started taking everything of value out of the boat each night and locking it in the downstairs room. A real change for us ! Bad deal to get in the boat in the morning and your chit is gone.....
We've even had a few renegade renters and spring breakers raid our ice chests left downstairs ....and once trot off with a bottle of Seagrams V.O. left on a picnic table downstairs.....man, they are brave......
I am lookin' forward to catching them though..........if they want some more..
