Camp report
Here's the report. Headed out Friday afternoon just me and Fat Albert. Got there in the failing light of dusk and had a good night bashing some things up. Got the bar and cabinets beneath it removed in preparation for the new cabinets coming in that VJER made. Finally got it all done around 4am and hit the sack.
Saturday morning I awoke to a flash and a bang. Now I had checked the weather and there was only a 5% chance of precipitation for Saturday. What the heck was going on here? My phone rang next and it was Coe calling to warn me of the storm blowing through. Of course I was listening to the radio and apparently the forecast now called for 40% chance. Wish I could be wrong as much as the weather liars are and still have a job.
TMO and Fishbobr had to stop off at Home Depot in Galveston to get a tarp on the panelling they were delivering. VJER had to wait on the rain before he could bring the cabinets down. 007, Swampmomma, and Scott got caught in it and had to wait for over an hour before launching. But in the end, the panelling got delivered, VJER and the cabinets arrived, and 007 and crew made it to the camp just a little damp.
007 made his famous meatballs for lunch and everyone got settled in. Vic soon arrived at the dock and we got the cabinets out to the camp with the help of a neighbor and his massive Boatright. Vic got right to work putting up panelling and then he installed the custom cabinets he made. He did all that while cooking up a fine batch of seafood gumbo. I shucked some oysters and Krista helped me peel the scrimps, plus vic had a nice redfish he cubed and threw in there. It was great gumbo for sure. I did the best I could with a $4 roast, but it was pretty bad by anyone's standards.
Pretty soon after supper, 007 and Scott crashed out. VJER and I visited our neighbors over at another camp and passed a good time. When we headed back, the fish were bitin'. I crashed out soon after and while I was sleeping a lot of fish were caught.
Sunday morning was a glorious one. It was pretty cool to wake up and walk in the kitchen and see the brand new cabinets. It got even better when I realized I could have gumbo for breakfast! We did a lot of relaxing until it was time to get to work. I moved everything out of the old cabinets above the sink and Vic knocked the cabinets out so he could get the ceiling panels in.
While all that was going on, I did the regular Sunday lunch boil. No cwabbies this time,
but we did have taters, corn, and sausage. While all this was going on, I heard the thunderous roar of a low flying aircraft. I said to everyone, "That's gotta be Walker. Everyone out on the dock!" It was really cool to see the plane and think of the cool photos he must be snapping. I got a couple ok photos, but my old camera just wasn't up to the task of getting any real good ones. Walker made 4 or 5 passes and then climbed away like an eagle.
Not too long later we had another visit from Ray Ward, a fellow who I met a while back that fishes the bayou all the time. He says he's going to register here. I was able to twist his arm to eat some gumbo. 007 and crew took off around this time, thankfully taking in a load of debris. Thanks for washing the dishes Krista!
Before I knew it, it was time for VJER and I to leave. It's always the worst part of a trip when you untie that dock line and depart. I can't wait to be back out there this coming weekend. Blockade Runners will be hosting the annual Womack family guys' getaway weekend. There are going to be some serious tunes played on the front porch.
Thanks to all who made this weekend such a good one! - Sandy

I saw Mike at the valero-I think he was loading up on "supplies" Saturday a.m. I had to get to my brother's place at Sea isle and work on the robalo-fuel lines and another (4th one?) antennae-dang those things break on docks pretty easy!%$#$^&. I thought about heading over, but with weather, no way. You all got a lot done-looking good."Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.
