  • Pier Poles

Anyone have any advise on setting Pier poles. I have a Bay house in Chocolate Bay, about a mile from the bridge, and may need some help.

What kind of advice are you lookin' for. I've had a fishing camp most of my life. The first lasted 30 years. The present one just about 3 years with Ike taking half of it.

The first thing you have to reckon is what sort of substrate you are dealing with. I'm not familiar with Choco, but I'll assume we're not dealing with sand. Is there a shell cap over mud? If sand, water jetting is the way to go. If mud, with mixed shell, give me a call. Ideally you would get a pile driving barge to jam them in. If you're looking for less cost than that, I have some theories which I developed seeing what hurricanes do to docks. I didn't have the guts to try them out on my new dock though. Shoot me a PM or ask someone for my number if you're in a hurry. I'll be offline in the A.M.
From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."
