  • Anegada Pic of the Day - Sharks!

We landed a bull shark and a tiger shark this afternoon - first tiger that we have seen here. This is Nancy bringing in the tiger.

    Nancy with the tiger shark.

Clearly not a safe day to be on the beach....

    Maneaters everywhere.

The footbath is not even safe...

Notice the detail here. See the eyes buggin' out of the doll when it's being munched? We've got a still photo Spielberg on our hands for sure.

Well, it turns out that what I thought was a tiger was just another bull shark. I figured it out this morning when I cleaned the jaw. Tiger sharks have teeth that are different from most others. This one had teeth just like the other bull sharks that we have caught.

It was a good afternoon fishing, though. We landed a couple of large horse-eye jacks and we lost two more sharks while sitting on the beach in a cool breeze and polishing off a couple of six packs of Presidente.

Wow, I was thinking it didn't look like a tiger as the head is all wrong, but I've never seen a bull with stripes like that. Very interesting. You're right, the tiger's teeth are unique among all sharks. Just as well, I hear that tiger sharks are at the very bottom of palatability when it comes to shark. I've tried it and was not impressed, but it's better than hardhead. I've never eaten a bull before though. I'm heading to the camp. When I return, I hope to find some more Anegada Adventures. - Sandy

                          Good one.

When I threw the second shark on the sand in front of Nancy, I said "Candygram!"

Yeah - I am old enough to remember seeing that skit when it originally aired. Oh how I miss those old SNL days.
