  • Rainbow Trout

I've been on a binge for over a week catching rainbows. I've been going everyday I can. Didn't take pictures the first day, but here a the rest.
The first day I used Power Nuggets, but then I switched to Power Eggs when a guy next to me limited out in 30 minutes. Flouescent Orange and Chartreuse. Fished Crenshaw, Herman, Tom Bass 1, and Friendswood Ponds.

How are you fishing those power eggs? There's a place around here where they dump those trash trout, but i've never fished for them.

Are you soaking them on the bottom? Bobber?

        What kind of hook? Size?

I am using a variation of FP10's post on how to rig.
I put a 3/8 ounce slip weight on my main line. Then tie on a small barrel swivel. Next I tie about 15" of #4LB leader to the barrel swivel.
Tie on a # 12 or 14 size thin light weight single hook.

Test the rig to make sure the bait floats. If it doesn't your hook is too heavy. Also if you don't get a bite soon, reel it in and check for any grass or leaves on the bait. I also put a fresh piece on about every 15 minutes since the scent wears off. When I am done I put the used bait back in the jar to reattain the scent for next time.
