Hit the flats early in the morning with my daughter hoping the wind would lay down early. Wind was about 12 to 15 gusting up to 20mph. A few trout and a few rat reds early in the morning on psycho chicken tx roach. Switched up on the colors but they didn't want anything but dark colors even though the water was pretty green or at least semi clear with the SW wind. We left when the croakers moved in and that was all we would catch. We threw marker 54 hard plastic, dsl, and a few old school lures to no avail. Tight lines brothers. FP420

If I would have gotten into some that where at least 14-15" I would have taken a stringer home to fry up Plugger. To bad the biggest was 10". Haven't seen any decent sized ones in a few years. I think I've caught bigger sand trout than croakers."It was the Law of the Sea, they said. Civilization ends at the waterline. Beyond that, we all enter the food chain, and not always right at the top."

I’m talking about croaker less than 10 “ long . You scale them , head and gut them , roll them in cornmeal and deep fry . The crispy skin and delicate meat slide right off the bone and with butter , salt , pepper, a better fish meal could hardly be had . My kids would fight over the crispy tails . I wouldn’t let them have mine !
