  • Nissan Frontier Truck Shopping? Websites?

Looking to do my due diligence. My dad has convinced me that it's TIME to shop for a new truck. I've looked at Edmunds, but I'm sure there are other great websites out there.

The real problem is, I don't really like most of the new trucks out there today. The standard size trucks have gotten too tall, big, expensive with worthless whizbangs, oh, AND UGLY.

The only one that I like because of its simplicity and proven design is the Nissan Frontier. The reviews of the Chevy Colorado are good, but talk about over complicated and stocked with expensive crap I'll never use. I don't even have or want a smart phone. New Ranger reviews are not good. Toyota is just plain over-priced due to the name. The older Tacomas seem to have been superior. Don't need 4X4, just need to tow my 17 foot Carolina Skiff.

What I'd really like is a BRAND NEW 1992 Silverado with a 350. Darn thing was bullet proof. Not likely to find that though.

So any Nissan Frontier owners out there have anything to say?

Just stick with your old POS.. Otherwise we'll all have to hear you gripe endlessly about not having a cassette deck.

Just took delivery of my new truck. If you're looking for anything, do check out Gulf Coast in Angleton. They sell Nissan, Toyota, Ford, Chevy, Buick, etc. My sales guy Daniel went out of his way to get my deal done. He gave me a great offer and I drove all over Houston shopping around. Nobody beat that deal. I actually found a 2018 at another dealership I wanted more than a 2019. The problem was, I couldn't get the price I needed from that dealership. I told Daniel about it and he PERSONALLY went and got the truck from that dealership. Talk about make car shopping easy.

When it came down to the next level where they try to "get" you at the end of the deal, these guys were fantastic. Never once did they try to bamboozle me. I hadn't shopped for a truck since '04. In most of the other dealerships I went to, it felt just as difficult as it did back then. But not at Gulf Coast with Daniel and the second guy Christian. Not once did these guys try to "get" me on anything. I can't say how much I appreciated it. I told them what I wanted and they delivered without any of the shenanigans you find elsewhere.

If you're looking for anything, give these guys a shot. Do your due diligence and shop around. If your experience is anything like mine, other dealers will tell you they can't beat it.
