Nothing but thorns for me this weekend, y'all. Ran down to Jamaica Beach early Saturday morning to do some projects around the bay house...was able to get a solo session in Saturday afternoon. Tried a new spot and caught 1 17" trout on a Marker 54 plastic shrimp. Moved to a different spot and caught 2 dinks. About 5p the fog rolled in thick so I puttered back to the house at about 10 mph. I don't like running in the fog.
A buddy came down early Sunday morning and we ended up sitting on the dock watching the rain until about 8a. Finally pushed the dock just after that and made several stops up and down West Bay. Throwing various plastics yielded nothing...notta. Not one single bite. Just could not find the fish.
Called it a day around 10:30a, got cleaned up and was home by 2:30p for a nap and a terrible Super Bowl game.
Been a long time since I've been skunked...but I guess that's why they call it fishing and not catching.
Hope somebody had a better couple of days than I did.
