    8/22/2018 Gig

    Went out with my brother Tuesday night to do s little stabbing. With this latest tide drops it has been moving the water enough to bring the flounder out of the back bays to the front of most drains or marshes. It was a long gig and by no means were the flounder just there waiting or easy but we covered enough ground to both get our limits. Thanks for the look and tight lines.         You’re on a roll ! Man , get some lengths and weights on the bigger mammas like as in the last picture . It looks heavy !

            Thanks guys, just getting up from going again last night. You won't see any post from me for a few weeks because I had to call in today. Lol. That big girl was 25" and the one under it was 23 "1/2 and after that 21" and 20". The big one was my first of the night and was just a prelude of what was to come. This pic is from the 3 I got last night.               25” is a beast , 23 1/2 “ is too . If you were landing that on a artificial lure rod and reel it would be like trying to land the megaladon shark . I’ve horsed in a 22 “ and it was crazy powerful . I got it in the kayak and beat it with the butt of my rod to tame it . That just made it mad .
              Oh yeah , I’d like to see the video .

                      I don’t understand the Facebook link to Steven Salinas . Is that your friend ? I read some of the things he does and said and He seems to be a stand up guy with a beautiful family . He would be a worthy friend to have .

                          OK Plugger, I think I got it done. In the video you can see gig head I use is a five prong which helps with big fish(this one is medium one) and helps stop the trashing when you've got one. The other thing that helps me is a good up down motion when gigging. Any gigger worth his salt will teach you this. It helps stop the fish from taking off on you compared when you stab it in a sideways motion it will swim in that direction and come off. And yes it has happened to me many times.
