It looks like many of us will get through this with a flooded home. When this event tails off, those of us that have dry homes may be available to help those of us who got flooded.

If you get flooded, get your carpets out ASAP. Also, cut out your drywall where it got wet. I believe the rule of thumb is 2 feet above the water line.

When this recedes, post up here if you are flooded and could use a hand getting this done. Nobody will be there until the roads are passable, but we'll know who needs help. - Sandy

I'm dry so far but it's uncomfortably close. My parents got 2' of water. I got them out just before they lost their cars. Just got power back about an hour ago.

I was just about to call you. Now you don't have to listen to me. So the Chevy lives? Gave away the little Champion generator today. Couldn't say no to someone in need.

If'n your mom and pops need it, and I ain't cuttin' my own house up, I'll be there.

There's plenty to do for sure. Both in Galveston and Rockport. I just spent 5 days in Rockport helping clear down trees and remove sheet rock. Grueling work for sure but families are grateful for the help.

Try to go help some peeps for at least a few hours if you can, anywhere. That can be anywhere from gutting houses of wet material and in the future some will need help installing wallbaord and float and tape. will be plenty to do for a year I bet.

          Drywall is the DEVIL!

Go with paneling if you can.
