  • John Wayne goes out with his boots on.

I don't know how many of you here are John Wayne fans, but I just watched True Grit and one of my all time favorites, The Shootist is coming on next on TCM. If you're a young man, you may not know John Wayne as well as I or some of the old timers do. If you're sittin' around tonight, turn it on. There is nothing quite like the Duke. - Sandy

I've been stuck here all evening too. In Harm's Way was on earlier and Gunfight at the OK Corall. I guess when your stuck not fishing, there's not much better than a John Wayne/Western marathon.

This was 1976 and it was his last movie. I still remember the day he died. It was just a bit after school was out in 1979. It was a sad day at our house, almost as sad it seemed, as the day my grandfather had died.

I've got a really big John Wayne movie collection. The next time I put on Rooster Cogburn I think my wife is gonna shoot me! I was really excited when I was able to put some of them on my Ipod -- if I'm traveling I'm watching the Duke!

Yeah, I was stuck watching both True Grit & the Shootist last night. Even though I have seen them both many times it is hard to not watch'em when they are on. The man was a Great American.

Got those and a lot of the Duke's movies on DVD. We will have an all Duke day every now and then when it is rainy. They don't make them like him anymore!!!!!
