7/18 Surf Report

The kids are at A&M Sea Camp again this year...so the wife and I are hanging in Jamaica Beach for the week. I'm "working" from down here.

Hit the surf again this morning. Wind was blowing west-ish then switched to the north-ish. It wasn't as calm as I was expecting but the water was in good shape. I was committed to throwing a Mirrolure and eased in to the water right at 6a. Caught 2 trout in about 5 casts...both right at 15". Fished until about 8a and finished with 5 trout...all around the 15" mark. Lost 3 or 4 more at hand. It was a fun morning.

I'm sold on the Mirrolure. 51MR pink with a yellow belly.

If the forecast holds, it should be decent conditions the rest of the week. Go get 'em fellas!

Nice going ! Usually your new favorite lure is the one you last caught fish with .

That's the one! I broke the front hook so I need to figure out how to replace it. Do you know what size hooks are on that model?
