  • Flounder gigging report (with timeline)

    May 11, 2017

Been recouping a few days out of town from busting my as$s when I stepped off my raised Bote at the marina last Saturday and hit the pier, then the Bote, then the pier and then the Bote again all the way down into the water. It hurt to breathe, cough and especially sneeze for a while. And I wasn't even drunk when this happened. Called Aqua Pimp and Muddskipper to come down and hang out a few days and flounder gig. Muddskipper wussed out (said he just got back from Cuba and couldn't make it.).

6:30 p.m. Aqua Pimp walks in the door at the house and we drink a few beverages and eat some beef jerky I bought
at Buc-ees on the way down while shooting the shiet.

7:45 p.m. We load up the mule with gear/ice chest and head to the s.s. only to turn around to come back and get my
    wading boots.

8:15 p.m. Still enjoying a few cold beverages on the south shoreline.

8:30 p.m. Get the gigs and lights ready to go

8:35 p.m. Get a massive, 4 finger dip of Copenhagen and we head out

9:00 p.m. We reach a point near a drain at low tide and we have 2 on the stringer. I turn around to go back to the
Mule because I was feeling dehydrated and weak and needed a beer. AP continues wading around the
    point near the drain.

9:30 p.m. Get to the mule, and as I'm listening to the Rockets getting their asses kicked and studying the MLB
Betting lines for Friday's games and some futures on win totals for NFL teams, AP walks back with a full
    stringer of flounder.

9:40 p.m. After a couple of beers we decided to walk the other direction. At this point in time I'm feeling a lot
Better from being rehydrated (if that's a word).

9:45 p.m. Get another massive, 4 finger dip of Copenhagen and we head out.

10:00 p.m. In no time, found enough to finish out a 2 man limit and we head home.

10:15 p.m. AP leaves because he has a trip booked early the next morning and I ice down the flounder to clean
    later.

10:30 p.m. I lay on the couch and open a cold coors light and watch a replay on dvd of Vince Young's walk in
Touchdown with 19 seconds left to beat 2 time defending champ USC and win the National
Championship in the 2006 Rose Bowl in Pasedana, California.

    A very good evening.

Nice! I busted my arse at the marina much in the same manner. Went to step off the dock into the boat and my kid jumped in before me and the boat moved from under my foot. Landed flat in the bottom of the boat - I hurt for days.
                  Shut up and FISH!!
