5/20/17 Dad and Matagorda

    5/20/17 Dad and Matagorda

    My dad passed away 9 yrs ago. He is the reason I have a passion for trout fishing. We had a house in Matagorda on the river for 40 yrs til 2000. We were always there. We fished the west shoreline of east Matagorda my whole life and have gotten some big trout there over the years. I am finally letting go and me and some buddies will be kayaking his ashes to our spot and setting my dad free. I will be putting up a pvc cross to mark the spot and hope it stays up a long time. If anyone is in the area please stop and wet a line. We will be fishing after we finish.

      Very nice and your Dad certainly appreciates and sees how you keep him in your heart!! I lost both my parents in the last 5 years and keep thinking of them daily.

        Trophytroutman, what was his name? I'll be sure to tip my hat and say hello when I pass thru.
        I too will be doing the same with a family member when it's time to "let go" on Sam Rayburn Lake.
