Friday was an absolute Gem for April. Alomost zero wind all day but the sunshine did hinder me a little but when I found the bait I found the fish. Bone and chrome tops where the key until around noon then switched to assassins on 3/16. Sat and sun where a different store normal April wind was howling. After taking a pounding from the waves I finally located some North Shoreline with some great looking grass to drift and located a couple reds in only about 10 casts(on assassins). hoped out of the boat recon the area and try to catching some live bait. I ended up hunting 2 nice reds in the shallows picking off shrimp. After following for close to 20 min I finally let my cast net go and came as close as ever before to catching a slot red in a cast net. I was by myself so no one would have believed the store anyway. all in all it was a great weekend to hit the bay and learn some new water. I look forward to getting out there with some of you guys. PM me if your interested

SO..... 10-15 years ago.....Galveston side of SLP probably halfway towards the water tower east..... was a fine day....we were killing the slimers! (lucky day for pops since I cant stand dealing with them.) Had the surf rods out...enjoying the day with family and at least something biting....noticed a slight jerk and bump....reelin in...cool I see 2 gafftop on my tear drop leader as they ride over the second bar....then they disappear between the 2nd and 1st bar...them WHAM!!!!!!! looked like moby dick came out the water after em....76" bull shark( I think) nails em......now I'm puckered up....pointlessly reel a for a good 5 minutes like I have a chance lol and bing....typical line poppage....so now we have this 6 ft. plus shark swimming back and forth in the gut between the bars......and me being me all mad that my catch isn't officially a catch just yet according to a good family fishing buddy.....run to the truck grab the trust cast net.....and my catch became an official catch..and my net became, well.....a ball of birds nest mono.......TRUE STORY! will never forget free lining(not really) gafftop nailing the biggest shark I've landed c/o cast net.
if i dnt catch dinner, i will catch a buzz. it works out!

They are starting to show keep grinding. Wind is tuff this time of year. Tide was pretty low this past Saturday and higher than normal weekend before. Managed to pull one limit on reds / couple of decent trout and a flatty before I called it quits (down south) plastics.

                    I PM'd you, but you didn't call.

It was a tough weekend with the wind. 5 flounder, 4 trout in the box. You didn't miss much.

I'm off on Fridays , maybe we can hook up because TERMO don't take me fishing no more .
I'm old and fat with a bad back . Do you have a boarding ladder ? I can manage without usually .
