Yep, well guess what- you did have something ripped out of you. Now you know why they tell you not to make any decisions right after surgery. Glad you are ok. Hope it will be an uneventful recovery and you'll be good to go soon!

Well, I slept a looooong time today. I woke up after noon to a call from the doc. Got the lab results back already, which is apparently very speedy. Good news all around. Apparently it was the result of some deep trauma that my body enveloped instead of absorbing. Basically an angry bruise. I don't even remember hitting my arm there.
Yep Keller, dat was me. You work over there? I wasn't really very cognizant at the time. I was deep into a Valium addled haze. I have to take it anytime needles are in play. I've got a pretty extreme psychosis going back to a very bad spinal injury. It's almost as bad as my fear of eggs.
I think I'll be good to go for work tomorrow. It's only been 2 days, but I miss my kids. I'm spending the day going through some of my mom's old things and trying not to bend my arm. If I keep it straight, it doesn't hurt too bad. I've learned I'm pretty good at one handed typing. From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. Thank goodness for a successful surgery and negative pathology report. Rest up and get back to fishing .
I've been bombarded with healthcare dental / medical news articles about cutting back on hydrocodone / oxycodone prescriptions . A first line pain relief regime of Advil and Tylenol combo is recommended with the schedule 2 prescriptions next . I'm not sure how that will play out in a private practice setting given patient expectations and the now inability to call in Vicodin .GEORGE A. BRANARD, COLOR SERGEANT, CO. Under Obama and our current DEA push, aspirin and ibuprofen will become Scheduled drugs soon. I HOPE Obama suffers extreme back pain (due to golfing of course) and his doctor gives him 2 aspirin and says "Man up, ya farking pansy, wimpazz, *******."Originally posted by plugger View PostThank goodness for a successful surgery and negative pathology report. The people that are truly suffering in pain are being punished by a few abusers and our Gummint's belief that those few abusers 'need help'-the few abusers need to OD and make this world better IMO so the real pain sufferers can continue a pain relief regiment.
Glad all worked out Sandy. I hope the pain subsides quickly. If not, send Obama an email of you waving at him but only 1 finger works."Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. I'm all for less Federal regulation of just about anything. The drug situation in this world is a problem any way you look at it. There are really no good answers. People are getting hooked on all sorts of stuff without even realizing it, and it's ruining a lot of lives. Sure some people really need it and they are indeed the ones that will suffer. Luckily for me, all pain killers ever really did for me was put me to sleep. I always used the bare minimum to simply keep the pain at the edge of "tolerability". I hate the feeling of being whacked out of my gourd. But plenty of people desire this feeling, whether they have real pain or not. There's no good answer to the problem IMO.
Trust me, if I really felt like I needed it, I'd make a stink and I believe the doc would relent. I'm doing ok. The pain today at school had me a little more edgy than I'd have liked to have been with the kids, but it's a little better tonight after a long nap. I think if I was on dopey pain meds I may not have been able to teach at all. I was glad to be back at work and tomorrow will be better. The swelling has gone down a lot and my arm is starting to look like an arm again.
What I really need to do is get back on a regular sleep schedule. I missed the entire Texans game tonight. But I checked the score and it looks like I didn't miss much. Sorry to all Texans fans. I know what it's like when your team loses.

Because I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and gosh darnit, people like me!
It really is good today. I'm hardly noticing any pain. I'm going to make this my last round of Tylenol and see how it goes. From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

Sandy,
I'm glad that your doing better.
Your fortunate that your not needing medication for serious pain. My mother is 86 years old.
She has a back condition that needs surgery. Due to her age the doctors say they can't
help her. She has been on pain medication for around 6 years from a pain specialist.
Last month she went to her 3 month visit to the pain doctor.
She was told that soon they would no longer be able to give her medication
to help her. This ruling comes from the Feds.
I asked her what is she allowed to take for her pain. The Doctor said Tylenol.
I can't describe how angry I am on this website.
There is no over the counter medication that will keep her from suffering.
