  • Mobile trailer repair?

I'm going to be selling my boat soon and need some trailer work done as it's just been sitting for about three years on the driveway. I imagine the brakes are totally rusted but I haven't even tried to hook it up and pull.

Does anyone know someone that does, or would be interested in doing, on-site trailer tune ups and repair? It's located in Galveston around 8 mile. I might could tow it somewhere but I am not sure whether it will lock up or not.

    thanks!

I doubt it will lock up my fren I pull a trailer for a living. I'm sure your trailer has electric brakes, and not electric over hydraulic. So when you disconnect the harness it just rolls freely. Does it have an emergency breakaway that pulls out if your trailer disconnects? If so then you should be fine my fren. I would worry more about the bearings having oil or grease. You don't want a wheel flying off on the highway. Pm me if you have any more questions.

      PM sent. thanks
      In case others have ideas:
My trailer has hydraulic brakes. It hasn't moved in some time so I am afraid the salt air has taken its toll as it has on the bolts, etc.

I also need to replace the bunks as the carpet is shot and the bolts are rusted out that hold the board on.

I am pretty handy but have no idea how to lube up the trailer or service the brakes
