  • Gps/fish finder recommendations?

Hey guys, looking at possibly getting a new fish finder/gps combo. Someone dropped something on my transducer cable, I've got a pretty certain idea who it was but I can't prove it was them. I don't know if I can splice it together and it'll work as well, but I'll try. If not, what do you guys recommend? Looking for something that's fairly user friendly and preferably came preloaded with a map if possible. Thanks guys.

Look for last year's model Lowrance Elite 7. I think about $500 maybe $400. Your best bet is to find a previous year's model and save about 40% off retail.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

      LOL... beater stick combo. Nice.

The Elite series will do just fine. Lowrance and Garmin are both pretty good, some are also liking the new hummingbird helix. The main thing you need for Galveston is the GPS map.

You sure you can't just by a new xducer with cable. Or is it just time to upgrade?

It is a helix 5si, a new transducer from Amazon is $150. I also need to buy a map card which is I believe another $200. Like Jerry said I found a Lowrance for $450 that comes with a better map than what's in the helix already. I'm going to try and fix the cable and I might end up just buying a transducer. I'm hoping the wires being cut and arcing didn't mess up the transducer or head unit.
