• No boat, just a man that wants to catch a fish!...

First off I would like to introduce myself to everybody I'm Ian I'm 24 years old and I absolutely love to fish I actually love all kinds of fishing whether it be inshore offshore surf Bay pier freshwater river lake or pond doesn't matter I'm based out of the north side of Houston but do quite a bit of traveling on my line of work I'm a Millwright.. Okay so I need some help apparently I used to fish Galveston area all the time me and either my father or mother always fished San Luis Pass Pier but unfortunately it seems that it is no longer there and doesn't look to be rebuilt anytime soon so I need some help from you all on places to try bank fishing / Wade fishing this evening tonight and possibly into the early morning I'm more than happy to go from one spot to another as the time transitions from evening tonight to morning don't have a problem with getting out in the water and getting a little wet so anyways fishing spots are more than welcome pier fishing would be awesome especially if there's one with good lights unfortunately I don't have any kayak or boat just four or five rods and plenty of tackle although I may not have the right lures over the past month I was working down in Chocolate Bayou at one of the chemical plants and got to go fishing several times unfortunately I got skunked every time so I don't know if it's just a stroke of bad luck or if I'm doing something wrong any advice any spots NE suggestions are completely and entirely welcome please help somebody catch a fish I actually used to work at Uncle Buck's bait shop right at 61st Street and 45 when I was a teenager but in the past 5+ years I haven't been on the island hardly at all so please I'm just trying to get my bearings back again as to where to even begin trying to catch a couple specks red fish sharks I have one big surf rod for sharks and bull Reds and the rest of my tackle it is all for specks flounder and redfish even if I'm told to go to the dreaded 91st or 61st Street Pier are Seawall for one of those I'll take the advice and try but I really love to find somewhere that's a little more off the beaten path a little less crowded

These guys will be able to tell you some good walk in and wading spots. Of course there's always the surf, on the island or on the Brazoria County side. There's also the Surfside Jetty and the Texas City Dike. Not too long ago, one guy that is a boatless wader won one of our fishing tournaments.

If you find some place to fish under the lights, the hot bait for me this past month or so has been tandem rigged glass minnows. The smaller the better. The only place I know to fish under lights is at the San Luis Pass County Park. You have to be a camper there to access the spots though.

Yes, periods and paragraphs make things easier to read, but I have a feelin' he was in a hurry to find somewhere to fish.

Get a hook and line wadefishing map, summertime into fall go to the beaches and look for bait and wade there on calm days. Sand bottom walkin spots on the south shoreline of any Bay are usually good. If the water is totally lifeless you may still be able to pull some reds and flounder out of the grasslines on falling tides. Make sure you know your tides or be able to read the water. Helps to go to places where you can fish your bait in the direction of the current or atleast cross current. One walkin spot I love but probably shouldn't put on here is a full moon night time wade off mosquito island to the right. The hotter the weather the better the bite that night. Specs all night

Anyways maps help a lot buy them for every place you wanna fish, boat and wade maps are good for walk in waders if you learn the area. Hope this helps I think we have all felt thos way I some point.

Yea for sure I actually wear a nice fitting vest style lifejacket. I feel like the inflatable kind are not gonna cut it if I get knocked out somehow. Boaters aren't always looking or sober.

Wow, thank all of you so much! I really didn't expect to even get a hit on this, butt y'all have definitely been more than welcoming with advice and knowledge. I had some urgent matters come up yesterday to where I wasn't able to make it out on the water (sniffles)... Today nothing will stop me and as long as all things go to plan my fiance will be in tow, I must say I absolutely love that my woman wants to go fishing with me especially considering the fact that she comes from a family that does no hunting or fishing!... So I picked up some super tiny Zoom flukes in the clear glitter colors, one with a grey back the other one with a light purple back I have some catch 2000, catch Juniors and the new mirro minnows in very natural-looking colors mullet and shad representations. Of course I have a Top Dog and several different gulps, I would say I have a decent selection acumulated. What do you suggest to start out throwing if I get there around 8 and where do you suggest to go first ?=CONFIG]32359 =CONFIG]32358
