  • East End Surf

I realize that this is a "west end forum", but my in laws have a condo on the east end of the island at Palisade Palms, and we spend a lot of time there with the kiddos. I've never really surf fished there, except for last Friday late afternoon, and couldn't find any bait or birds to save my life. Seems like all of the good surf fishing reports were from the west end. Anyone ever surf fish on the east end of the island?

On another note, I'm moving the skiff to Waterman's this week. Should get me to where I like to fish the most, and I'm REALLY looking forward to having the boat on a slip on the water.

Yeah , I've fished the ship channel and from the south jetty . If the life guards are on duty they will not let you fish the surf. The jetty/ surf is best with an incoming tide .

Fish at base of S. Jetty on Ship Channel side-used to be tremendous about 20 years ago-watch out for ship wakes and also lotta sharks.

By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. I've caught my share of trout from 6th and blvd. to the end of the wall. Never had to go any more west than that.

I've caught a lot of fish walking that jetty fishing both sides. Look for bait or you'll be making a lot of casts.
