Cow Trap Lake & Cedar Lakes - Any advice?

Hey All - I've been thinking about making a run to Cow Trap Lake to try and fish some of those new DU/CCA artificial reefs. Been studying google maps and reading what I can find on getting up in there. I have a Hewes Tailfisher 17' poling skiff and can run pretty skinny.

Any advice on running into Cow Trap and fishing the oyster beds/artificial reefs? I'm hoping these areas aren't inundated with fresh water - may make a trip this Saturday to check it out.

If you go in the next couple of days, you'll probably have tides 1' or more over predicted. That will help. Otherwise, proceed with extreme caution. Once I got inside Cow Trap or any of the Cedar Lakes, I would shut it down and get on the platform - mucho shell everywhere. Learn you way around and go slow.

Thanks for the advice @Jerkyourcroaker. These high tides are my drive to get out there (and hopefully not get stuck). We'll be poling around trying to hunt down some reds!
