    Jones Lake Caution

Dredge 32 is spudded down in ICW at Harveys pole ( directly out from Diversionary canal). They had ran 24" submerged pipeline from ICW to mouth of diversionary canal east bank. Dredge stands by on VHF channel 16. Captain said he saw 2 boats already run over line and damage lower units. This pipeline is a 24 inch steel pipe laying on bottom in 3 foot of water , is well marked day and night, Strongly suggest that you take east route through tiki bridge or shortcut just west of tiki. This pipeline completly blocks traffic going towards greens and harborwalk. Some boats may make it at high speed, most will not. Big Risk! Not sure how long on station.

When did they block the ditch?I just took it to go from teichman point to greens with no problem. I saw they moved the barge from greens cut to just about harborwalk but no dredge pipe across the ditch. Thanks for the heads up cause i would hit it with my luck

They are not blocking the ICW, they do however have pipe running across part of Jones lake. A nasty surprise waiting to happen for someone cutting across that area of Jones.

It should be well marked... I know the one on the north side of Upper Galvy is well marked with buoys every 50 - 75 yards. Probably could Idle over it if needed with the motor JP / trimmed and tilted up... or just go the Tiki and shortcut route.

It should be well marked. Will probably be there through May.
