  • Chocolate at night

It's been years since I would spend the night on Chocolate fishing the bubble barrier and Amoco's docks across from 2004 ramp. Since 911, are we still able to fish those areas or will you get run off. As long as a barge wasn't in at Amoco's dock, we would fish all up and down the docks and all out in front of them. The guys working nights would come down and visit to see what was biting. The bubble barrier was always good for a flounder or two. Now that my dock is finished and my boat lift is in the works, I plan on doing a lot more evening fishing. If we still can.

You can still fish the Amoco dock, you just can't tie up to it. As long as you just troll the water, they don't mind.

Me and a buddy were there a couple of weekends ago and some kids kayaked (in the dark with no lights) over to the far side of the dock and beached their kayaks and proceeded to walk along the dock. Didn't take long for security to send a foreman out and those kids scattered like roaches. He told us that as long as we didn't attach ourselves to the docks on get on them, we were ok.

Thanks, that's good to know. I've caught a lot of fish there during my younger years. Back then we could tie off anywhere along the dock and they wouldn't care.

X2. I remember gigging days in high school. More mosquito bites than flounder. Eeep woods is exactly what it says ...woors. Not deep marsh. Like salad dressing for them

Heck, I'm just thankful at my age I'm still healthy and fit enough to get out there and do some of my youthful shenanigans. Getting out and fighting mosquitos is a lot better than not being able too.

Just give Vertellus a ring and ask for a drum of 100% pure Deet and you should be fine. LOL
