  • Sure catch?

We're staying for Easter weekend on the far west end, and would like our city boys (8 and 10) to catch some fish. We don't have any gear with us. Suggestions? Are the piers in the sea wall a good option? Any charters on this end of the island? Thanks!

For first timers I think the piers or jetties are great to try out. Might be a little windy this weekend but you can sure try. As for gear, your gonna need that sir. Academy is running a deal on rod and real combos real cheap. Set a Carolina rig or under a popping cork with some live or dead shrimp and you can't go wrong. Be careful at the jetties with the kids very rocky and uneven surface. Good luck.

I was under the impression you could rent fear at the big piers. No?

I do not know about the gear rental. Maybe a quick call to the piers and you can find out. A lot of fishing guides on here that can take you and the kids out and probably supply the poles.

Thanks FlounderP. We're going to try out the piers and I'll report back. Interested in a guide, but not sure how to find...

You can find a guide here http://www.fishwestend.com/need-a-guide or ask the board.
